Minnipa Ballast Siding was established at the end of my modelled period, however it is included to add operational interest to the model. The overhead bins, framing and the conveyor assembly are all scratchbuilt from styrene, although Plastruct lattice beams were used under the conveyor belt. A lack of available space behind the bins necessitated the adoption of a low-relief approach (the sky board hides the parallel main line as it drops down from the upper level). The earth mound represents the one that road trucks used to access the feed hopper for the conveyor.
