Pearlah

Train 6AE1 is seen dropping down through the site of Pearlah siding on 20 February 2009. 873, 1204 and 842 are in charge of a rake of empty HCN and HAN hoppers en route to the grain bunker facility at Cummins.

842, 873, 859 and 848 are passing Coomunga with train 3CG1 to Wudinna on 13 January 2009. 848 had arrived at Port Lincoln a month earlier, after spending most of 2008 working iron ore trains at Whyalla.

On 1 November 2008 848 was teamed up with ex-WA loco 1907 and about to propel their loaded ore train (1DW4) to the dump pocket. The train consists of older hoppers which have been re-sheeted and refurbished over the last couple of years at the EDI workshops at Port Lincoln.

In the photo below, 848 is in the workshops yard at Port Lincoln on 20 February 2009. It is sitting beside the old MIC shed where the motor inspection cars were kept in the days before Hy-Rail vehicles.

CK4 (teamed up with Alco 903) is fresh from its overhaul and repaint at Port Lincoln in this scene on 14 January 2009. The ballast train is working between Middleback Junction and Iron Baron.

CK5 was the other Port Lincoln CK overhaul, and it is seen with MKA rebuild 1302 on a loaded ore train near iron Baron on 12 January 2009.
