Originally built 1944 as FN army tank transporter flats, 50% funded by the Australian Army. By 1947 all were adapted for sleeper traffic for South East gauge conversion; most were recoded FNS, although some (including 7804, 7813, 7814, 7833, 7854 and 7856) retained FN code. To Port Lincoln Nov 1952, used for bagged grain. All sent to Islington Sep-Dec 1956 for conversion to ON ore wagons for Broken Hill traffic.
